Hydaelyn as a whole boasts a great variety of races and types of people alike, varied in size, scale and appearance, each race has their own features, cultures, and needs. It can be difficult to break down and classify races as there is a lot of classism and imperial propaganda around the idea of what counts as intelligent life, and what doesn't. However, the general consensus is that it can be broken down into three categories, 'The Five Races of Eorzea' which connotes to the Hyur, Elezen, Roegadyn, Lalafell, and Miqo'te, 'The Races of Man' which connotes to Hyur, Elezen, Roegadyn, Lalafell, Miqo'te, Au Ra, Viera and Hrothgar, and the 'Spoken' races, which connote to the races listed above, but also include those marked as Beastmen, Tonberries, and such, it may also pertain to edge cases such as Ishgardians changed by dragon blood.
