Gansetseg is a 30 year old Xaela, warrior. They were born in proximity to the Dawn Throne in the Azim Steppe to unknown parents and was taken in and raised by the Oronir tribe. Currently she finds herself tending to the maintenance of weaponry and armour aboard the Khartsgai airship, where she currently takes residence.
Appearance
Gansetseg is a small but burly Xaela woman with dark skin and dark, greyish-blue hair. Her eyes are a bright red, framed with bright red limbal rings. The scales along her cheeks and chin are fairly extensive, the former displaying a slight star-shaped spread. Her horns curl forwards and inwards, framing her face, and are decorated with small silver bands.
Despite her small frame (standing shy of 5 fulms), she is well-built and muscular, with a proportionally long and rounded tail for her size. She adorns herself with fur pelts and wool-like clothes made from the sheared fur of Golden Fleeces, usually accompanying some manner of lacquered breastplate.
History
Early Life
Gansetseg was born to unknown Xaela parents in the Azim Steppe. Alerted by the presence of a nearby falling star, the seemingly-abandoned infant was discovered by Oronir scouts, and given the name Gansetseg (Steel Flower) from the shape of the nearby impact crater of the small, ferrous meteorite.
Raised as one of their own, Gansetseg showed skill with arms and an eagerness to prove herself despite her runtish build; growing up to not only excel with many weapons, but also rigorously honing her physique. At this time, she also developed an affinity with horses, which would further translate to Yols when she came of age.
Teenage Years
At age 17, Gansetseg participated in the rite of Bardaam's Mettle; to prove herself worthy of representing the Oronir tribe as a combatant in the Nadaam later that year. Overcoming the Trials set to her, Gansetseg recieved a vision during one of the trials, in which the statue representing the great spirit Bardam commanded, "Be not afraid of falling stars". At this time, Gansetseg witnessed a confusing vision of a sky aflame; and though shaken from the harrowing image, awoke to a newfound sense of openness and clarity. In the process of proving herself before Bardam and the watchful gaze of the people of the Steppe, she befriended a Yol, the directionally-challenged [NAME].
Shortly after demonstrating her mettle, Gansetseg discovered an affinity for manipulating fire aether, which she would incorporate into her fighting style, as well as physical augmentation; both seemingly derived from her great pride as a member of the Oronir tribe.
During the following Nadaam, she met and faced off against Hanako Inazuma, who fought at the behest of the Mol at the time. This would become the first of a few clashes on that ceremonial battlefields over the years, with Gansetseg fighting for the Oronir, and Hanako's allegiances changing, with the two fighting alongside each other at least once.
Arriving in Eorzea
During the events of Shadowbringers, Gansetseg ventures to Eorzea, hearing tales of this land of bounty following its swift recovery after Calamity. She attempts to commandeer a vessel alongside her Yol; and while her violent attempts were unsuccessful, a mutual respect was met with the captain. Her troubles at sea did not end there, however; as the ship was struck by storm shy of Vylbrand; separating Gansetseg and her Yol from the ship and its crew, and more temporarily, Gansetseg and her Yol itself.
Gansetseg washed up on the beaches of The Mists, in the same ward as Her Embrace. During this time, Gansetseg took shelter in Her Embrace, while struggling with Eorzean customs and behaviour, and eventusally reuniting with her Yol. At this time, she was largely unaware that she was effectively speaking Eorzean, indicating that she possesses the ability known as The Echo.
