=== Early Life === When Hanako was 5 years old, her mother told her two brothers Fel and Hylric to take her to [[Kugane]] to 'Live a life better than becoming a High Priestess'. On her order they fled, but their living arrangements fell through, and they had to go to the local orphanage. The Local orphanage had not enough room or funds for them, so Fel and Hylric worked at the Kugane Docks to make enough money for the three of them to survive. Hanako spent alot of her early life amongst the dockyards themselves, she'd become a bit of a favoured sight amongst local fishermen and trawlermen and often managed to score herself seats on the daytime domestic voyages in exchange for manning the bow of the boat and keeping watch for anything too suspicious. During this time she enjoyed drawing landscapes, and trying her best to sketch them with the limited partchment and paints she'd managed to forage. Hanako was also notorious for sketching on pavements and stone walls with chalk and spices stolen from the markets, this landed her with a bad reputation amongst the [[Sekiseigumi]] and being nicknamed as a street rat by the policing officers, a title that Hanako would wear with pride later in her life. Hanako never really had any true respect for the [[Sekiseigumi]] because of this and this led to her feeling little to no guilt about stealing food and other perishables that she needed as she grew up as a hungry teen. Hanako got the barest basics of an education from within the orphanage. She struggled to be taught in large groups, not being able to properly focus on anything she was taught, and found better to teach herself better by stealing the textbooks away and teaching herself in the nights. She struggled with certain concepts, but managed to teach herself how to write in Hingan mostly by herself, confirming with her teachers afterwards that she had things correct.
